This role is an opportunity to work independently within your expertise while collaborating with other developers to ensure stable, high-quality delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The position emphasizes strong Progress OpenEdge and SQL skills, disciplined unit testing, and a solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC). You will contribute to releases, support, and ongoing improvement of established patterns and practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-light-green-cyan-color\">Responsibilities<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maintain, debug, and enhance a legacy Progress OpenEdge application<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop and execute unit tests to ensure code quality and regressions are prevented<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design and implement solutions following established SDLC practices and team patterns<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct integration testing and assist with software releases and validation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in code and design reviews and provide clear technical documentation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support incident resolution, production support, and blameless post-incident reviews<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate with peers to develop reusable code modules and patterns<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mentor and assist junior team members in understanding and completing assignments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-light-green-cyan-color\">Requirements<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>5-7 years of experience in a professional software engineering or similar role <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong proficiency developing applications using Progress OpenEdge<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong knowledge working with SQL databases and SQL database management systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience conducting unit tests using unit testing methodologies and best practices<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understanding of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with the programming languages, frameworks, or platforms used by the team such as C# , JavaScript\/TypeScript, Python, Angular, or AWS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience conducting integration tests and assisting with software releases and ongoing support<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Familiarity with Agile practices, including user stories, backlog refinement, and sprint planning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (preferred)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-light-green-cyan-color\">Nice to Have<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Experience developing software modules or patterns for reuse<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience developing for a cloud environment or cloud provider certification (AWS)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience supporting CI\/CDAgile certification<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience providing thought leadership and mentoring others<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Summary We are seeking a Senior Progress OpenEdge Developer to maintain and evolve a legacy application critical to our business operations.
